Dr. Muhammad Mahmud is a Professor and Dean at Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Institute of Technology (KASBIT), SMHS, Karachi. Before joining (KASBIT), Dr. Mahmud served Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi for 27 years at various responsibilities (teaching, research and administrative).

He has MBA degree from the IBA Karachi and earned Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His primary expertise is Corporate Finance.

Dr. Muhammad Mahmud has published more than 20 articles in reputed local and international publications. He was awarded third and fourth prize for participating in research essay competition by The Institute of Bankers of Pakistan in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

Mr. Abdul Wakeel Kazi holds M.Sc. (Pure Mathematics) and M.S. (Electrical Engineering) which he received from University of Karachi and Loyola University of Los Angeles, California respectively.

He has to his credit over 30 years of teaching and educational management experience in the Pakistan Air Force and other leading institutions of Pakistan. PAF College of Aeronautical Engineering, PAF College, Sargodha, Institute of Defence Management, PAF Air War College and Usman Institute of Technology are few to mention.

His area of interest is the application of Mathematics, especially Calculus, in the field of Engineering and Business.

Mrs. Zohra Zia has successfully completed her Masters degree in Economics from KU. During her academic tenure she has gained high credits in her Masters and has gained International Training and has developed experience in the corporate world.

Besides, she has more than 34 years of teaching experience in renowned colleges, Institutes and Universities.

She not only specializes but also excels in the following subjects of Economics; Micro-economics, Macro-economics & Money and Banking.

Mr. Abdul Kabeer Kazi’s credentials include MS (Computer Science), and BS (Electrical Engineering) from Arkansas State University (USA).

He has 7 years of teaching/industry experience, and currently pursuing his Ph.D in Telecommunication Engineering from Hamdard University, Karachi.

His areas of interest are in the fields of mobile computing, quality of service, routing & switching, & information security

Mr. Shahid has done MCS and M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics) from Karachi University (KU). He has almost 15 years experience in academics and administration with reputable organizations in Pakistan and Malaysia in the field of Computer Sciences and Information Technology.

He has worked for various institutes including Pakistan Air Force Degree College, Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology, Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia, Hamdard University Karachi, Baharia University Karachi, The CITY-APIIT (a joint venture of Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology, Malaysia).

His areas of interests are Computer Architecture, Information Systems, Computing Mathematics, and Information Technology.

Mrs. Anjum Zuberi is working as Senior Lecturer at KASBIT.

She has Master’s degrees from Karachi University & University of South Carolina, USA and an Associate degree from Tidewater Community College, (USA).

She worked for different foreign organizations includes; Old Dominion University (USA) and US Library of Congress.

Ms. Bushra Hussain is serving as a senior lecturer at KASBIT; she holds a Masters degree in English Literature from University of Karachi.

She has been associated with teaching at different educational institutions which includes NED University of Engineering and Technology.

She has more than six years of professional experience in her field. She has carved a niche for herself in teaching of English Language and Business Communication courses and proved herself a versatile teacher.

Mr. Hamza has done M.B.A in Finance, MA Economics and Associate Member of Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan. Presently pursuing M.Phil and Law degree.

After completing B.Sc. joined a Reputed Chartered Accountant audit firm where he worked in different capacities and completed CA-Inter.

He has rich experience of industry as he assisted the firm in consultancy business in Tax management, Corporate, development and implementation of systems and controls for Corporate Clients.

He has 8 years of teaching experience in many institutes affiliated with Karachi University and Federal Urdu University.

His areas of interest include Accounts, Banking Finance, Development Economics and SME management.

Mr. Kamran Mehboob has joined KASBIT in August 2006. He has done Masters in Administrative Science (M.A.S) from the University of Karachi and enrolled in M.Phil.

He is also rendering services as Academic coordinator for the Evening Program.

He has an extensive Professional experience of 13 years in various disciplines of education. He has taught Accounts, Business Studies and Islamic Studies at “The City School” and “Aisha Bawany O and A levels” for seven and six years, respectively.

Mr. Mehboob has also worked as a Teachers’ Trainer at different institutions and has conducted workshops and seminars for the Teachers and also helped the Management in Curriculum Development, Arranging Orientation Programs for the students as well as parents and in Conducting Examinations.

Syed Karamat Ullah Hussaini has done M.Com and is currently pursuing M.S. in Marketing.

He is an experienced marketer; having almost 12 years experience comprising teaching and marketing consultancies.

Before joining KASBIT he served as Senior Lecturer at Government Commerce College Quetta and Secretary Board of Academics in a Private University.

His areas of interest are Marketing, Marketing of Financial Services, Advertising, and Consumer Behavior.

Mr. Kashif Riaz has done BBA (Hons.), and MBA (Marketing) from Institute of Business Management, CBM. Presently pursuing M.Phil in Marketing.

He has more than 7 years working experience in teaching/ industry in different positions with various organizations like Advertising agency, Shaheen Air International, Dadabhoy Group and Goldsoft (software house).

His areas of interests are accounting, finance, research, marketing, advertising, economics and information technology.

Mr. Moazzam Shere has done Masters in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.

He is a recent addition to the faculty, joining the office of KASBIT in May 2008. He brings forth an amalgam of research and teaching experience with institutions of national repute. He worked for about 12 years with NDFC, the then premier development finance institution (DFI) of Pakistan. His responsibilities included economic evaluation of industrial projects financed by NDFC, preparation of Quarterly reports for Asian Development Bank, conducting Sector Studies such as Hotel, Leather Tanning and Pharmaceutical Industry, and input of research articles/analysis for an in-house publication, Financial & Economic Update.

He completed a course on Project Appraisal Methodology (1987) conducted by Pakistan Development Banking Institute (Quetta). He also participated in conferences organized by Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad. He also worked for Oasis International as Research Executive, and conducted research on various consumer products.

He has also served as a Language Instructor in various institutions, and imparted English Language (grammatical and conversational) skills to students (local/foreign), professionals and corporate employees. He served as a senior faculty member in Domino Education Services (Defence Campus) and as a visiting faculty of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Campus for a period of more than six years. Prior to joining KASBIT, he was working as an English Language Coordinator in Star Links operating under the management of Adnan Educational Trust.

His main area of interest is evolution of English language and acquirement of linguistic skills (oratorical, aural & written).

Ms. Sarwat Afzal has done MBA in Marketing and Human Resource Management. She is the member of Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP).

Her M.Phil leading to PhD is in process. Before joining KASBIT Sarwat served as Deputy Secretary at Karachi Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) for Health & Education, Housing & Construction and Women Entrepreneur sub-Committees and has more than two years working experience.

She is an experienced teacher having almost 10 years experience. Before joining KASBIT, she served as Lecturer at Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education, Adamson Institute of Business Administration, University College, College of Digital Sciences and Allama Iqbal Open University.

Her main areas of interest are Human Resource Management, Marketing, Management Sciences, and Training & Development.

Mr. Muhammad Sajjada Shamim Ahmed has done MBA (Finance), M.A. (Economics) and L.L.B. Currently pursuing M.Phil in Economics & Finance.

He is an experienced marketer; having almost seven years experience in the field of Finance.

Before joining KASBIT, he worked for Sindh National Textile College and Management Sciences.

His areas of interest are Accounting & Finance, Banking, Laws & Judiciary, Islamic Shariah, and Economics & General Management.

Mr. Muhammad Usman Aleem joined the Faculty of KASBIT in February 2008 as a Senior Lecturer. He had been a teacher as well as a Consultant & Specialist with Pakistan, UK and UAE based companies like Asia Strategy Institute, Investors In People (assisting the Lead Assessor), Al Kaheel Equine Management (Dubailand, UAE) and United Registrar of Systems respectively.

He has more than 8 years of Industry experience in various positions. His last position was General Manager Human Resource at U&I Garments / Junaid Jamsheed (J.). He has also provided Consultancy in Human Resource to various Academic Institutes, Government Organizations, Local & Multinational Organizations of repute and also worked with European Union on Industria-Academia Linkages.

He started his career in Pharmaceutical Marketing & Sales. Later on decided to follow the Trainer Profession in 2005 and worked as a Trainer at the IoBM & Sanofi-Aventis. He is registered as a Specialist (Pharma) with URS, UK. As a Specialist (Pharma), Mr. M.Usman was involved in many audits of Local and Multinational Pharmaceuticals Companies.

Muhammad Usman earned his degree in Bachelors of Pharmacy from University of Karachi in 2000. He received his Master of Business Administration degree in 2003 from SZABIST specializing in Marketing. He has done certificate courses in Human Recourse Management from IBA, Karachi. After completion of MS in Management, he is presently pursuing Ph.D in Human Resource Management from SZABIST.

His areas of interest are Sales Management, Human Resource Management, Recruitment & Selection, Organizational Development, Training & Development, Performance Appraisal, Research and Project Management.

Ms. Nousheen Abbas Naqvi has done M.A. (Economics) from Karachi University and PGD in Islamic Shariah from International Islamic University Islamabad. She is a Member of Pakistan Institute of Public and Finance Accountants.

Ms. Nousheen has 6 years experience at various organizations like Sindh National Textile College and Management Science, CITI Education.

Her areas of Interest are Economics, Islamic & Conventional Finance, Accounts, Statistics, Banking, Law & Judiciary, Islamic Shariah, and Management.

Mr. Rais Ahmad has done M.A. (Economics), C.A. (Intermediate) and PGD in Islamic Shariah from International Islamic University, Islamabad.

He is a Fellow Member of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants. He has 13 years of teaching experience to his credit in various organizations like Sindh National Textile College, Institute of Scientific Management and Mehran College of Commerce, Science & Technology.

He also has extensive work experience with various manufacturing concerns like UDL Industries Limited and Parsa Fashion & Style (Private) Limited. He helped organizations to establish their Computerized Accounting System as well as designing of Internal Control System.

His areas of interest are Banking & Finance, Accounts, and Islamic Finance & Insurance (Takaful).

Ms. Fatima Shah has been with us for the past two and a half years as a lecturer.

She did M.A in International Relations and Masters in Administrative Sciences with major in Human Resource Management from University of Karachi.

Before joining KASBIT Ms. Fatima worked in Institute of Management Sciences for about more than one year.

Her areas of interests are Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management and Principles of Management.

Before joining KASBIT Mr. Javaid Ahmed served National Textile College and Management Institute. He has done B.E (Textile) from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology and MBA (Finance) from KASBIT.

Mr. Javaid after completing B.E joined a textile mill as Plant Engineer (Quality & Management). Currently he is doing CFA for specialization in finance.

He is an experienced teacher and administration officer having almost four years experience comprising teaching & administration.

His areas of interest are accounting, finance and economics.

Mr. Mirza Uzair Baig has done MSc. Statistics and presently doing M.A in Economics and Finance from University of Karachi and pursuing his M.Phil.

He is an experienced teacher having almost 3 years experience. Before joining KASBIT, he served The City School and Falcon house Grammar School as an O level Mathematics teacher.

His areas of interest are Business Math and Statistics.

Mr. Shaikh Asim Athar Qurasihy has done Masters in Public Administration (M.P.A) from the University of Karachi.

He is an experienced teacher having almost 7 years experience. Before joining KASBIT as Lecturer, he taught at affiliated colleges of University of Karachi as well as Federal Urdu University and has also taught at Federal Urdu University Main Campus.

Before starting his career at KASBIT, Mr. Asim spent more than nine years at different positions in various organizations.

Mr. Asim has also worked as Training Support Supervisor at Chartered Accountant Institution and has conducted many workshops, seminars and training courses for the Audit and Management Consultants.

Ms. Saba Gulzar has been with us for more than six months as a Teaching Assistant.

She did Masters in Business Administration specializing in Human Resource Management from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University Karachi. Now she is doing MA (Economics) from University of Karachi.

Her areas of interests are Management, Training & Development and Organizational Behavior.

Ms. Samia Rauf has been with us for the past 2 years as a Teaching Assistant.

She did M.A (Psychology) from University of Karachi and presently enrolled in MBA programme.

Her areas of interests are Psychology, Sociology and Principles of Management.

Ms. Musarat Jehan has been with us for the past One and a half year as a Research Assistant.

She has done M.Sc (Statistics) from University of Karachi.

Before joining KASBIT, she was teaching BCS level students at Govt. College for Boys & Girls S.R.E Majeed Dalmia.

Her areas of interest are Mathematics, Statistics, Economics and Quality Control Management.
