Visits 2010-2011
» Pakistan Steel Mills
A batch of our students in relation to their cost accounting studies visited the Pakistan
Steel Mills to enhance their knowledge and to acquire a professional
understanding about the working of this organization. The management of the Steel Mill welcomed
the students and briefed them about their history and also took the students to
their various
processing plants. Besides learning about the various processes through
which their products that to go through; the students also learnt about the costing
techniques of the Steel Mill that are adopted at their different Cost Centers. At
the conclusion of the visit the Steel Mill management provided refreshments and
souvenirs to the students and faculty
members of the institute.
» Stock Exchange
The
students of Financial Management subjects visited the Karachi Stock Exchange at
the end of their semester to learn about the activities of the Exchange. The management
of the Stock Exchange appreciated the interest that the students exhibited to learn
as to how this important sector worked.
» KASB Sky View
A
large group of KASBIT students visited the prestigious KASB Sky View Project during
their semester, where they were able to learn with practicality about the cost accounting
methodology of this construction project and also have a better understanding of
the civil engineering, budgeting, costing & quantity surveying and other aspects
of this residential project.
» KASB Altitude
At
the end of semester students of cost and financial accounting visited the KASB Group’s
high-rise project; KASB Altitude to understand and learn about real estate and the
costing and financial accounting elements related to such types of construction
work. During the visit students also became aware about soil testing, piling and
other related processes through which construction is done.
» GEO TV
KASBIT
students were invited to the Geo Quiz Show; “Price is Right”, where their participation
was greatly appreciated because
they answered the quiz shows correctly and impressively
to win fabulous prizes. After the show, the management of Geo TV invited the students
to also visit their offices and learn about the working of a TV station and held
a very informative question answer session with them.
» Vibe TV
During
the semester students of Marketing & Cost Accounting were taken to Vibe TV, where they were welcomed by the management. At this TV Station the students further
learnt about this media through the roles of TV and CSR.
Through this visit the students also learnt about the costing of production process, competition in this
field, the rules and regulations they had to adopt among other things. The Vibe
TV management also took the students to all their different departments and production
areas and introduced them to the anchors and media personalities. At the end of this memorable visit, the management of Vibe TV presented the students with gifts
in appreciation of the interest they had shown.
» TV One
The
students of Marketing and Economics were invited to participate as guests
and audience in the regular
talk show; “Pakistan Chowk” where a very interesting interaction
had taken place for program. After the program the students visited the production
office where they learn about primary and secondary data collection methods, available
opportunities and threads in this field, about the acquisition of advertisement
etc. The students were also briefed about the history of TV One and the different
functions of their departments.
» English Biscuit Manufacturer (EBM)
At
the English Biscuits Manufacturers Factory, KASBIT students were welcomed by their
management of EBM and shown the different every departments of this factory. During
the visit the EBM management representatives enlightened the students with the history & development stages of their factory. The students were also able to learn
about the different processes through which their products had to go through and
this visit proved to be very useful to learn more about the cost accounting &
marketing, costing techniques, marketing procedures and supply procedures related
to consumer product concerns. At the end of the visit a question answer session
was held in which the management of EBM appreciated the keen interest that the students
had shown in their factory and distributed gifts to them.
